
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 29 (MExN): Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) NGOs’ Dimapur today held an advocacy programme with government officials and potential service providers at Prodigals’ Home Resource Centre, Dimapur. Government officials representing various departments and members from different organizations came together to address issues faced by the differently-abled.
The programme was chaired by Joe Ngamkhuchung, Director People In Need Foundation (PNF), and Pastor Ringa invoked God’s blessings.
K. Ela, Director Prodigals’ Home while delivering the welcome speech also spoke briefly about the achievements of NGOs like People in Need Foundation, Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) and Prodigals’ home that have been effortlessly working for differently-abled people and their rights. She pointed out the different ties that they had built with various government departments like education, social welfare, medical, state transport, food and civil supplies, employment which have proven to very beneficial. She expressed with hope that the ties would strengthen and that more departments like traffic, Dimapur municipal council and banks would also make an effort to help them. She stressed on the need for society to be more disabled-friendly and extent support whenever necessary.
Maong Jamir, Assistant Director Prodigals’ Home delivered the vote of thanks and the program ended with a word of prayer by Marin.
