The Secretary to the Government of Nagaland for Cooperation, Lithrongla G Chishi along with the Registrar Cooperation, Wepe Rits visited the Arenthru Multipurpose cum Retreat Centre at Kiphire and interacted with the members on October 21.
Interacting with the members of the society, Lithrongla disclosed that there are around 8000 cooperative societies in the state but there are also societies which are “not functional and the government is very serious to closely verify and only let the functional societies to revive and no functional societies to be cancelled.”
Appreciating the work and progress of Arenthru Multipurpose Society, she said that this society should be the model for other societies in the district to witness and also assure all possible help for the progress of the society. Informing that the ICDP programme is coming very soon in the district, she asked the members to take advantage of the programme by initiating innovative works.
Wepe Rits who also interact with the members encouraged the members present to make the district centre for production of pig as there are enough herbs, shrubs and feeds available in the district. He also asked the society members present not to just hang the society certificate but to make use of it by initiating innovative programs for the benefit of the district and the community.
