Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Kesonyu Yhome today said that setting up of Biosafety Level 3 laboratory needs major safety protocols and steps involved in the construction, as the lab would be involved with highly contagious microbes.
Replying to a query raised during a press conference called by the Finance Department on May 1, he stated that the government has been working in full swing towards setting up the laboratories. The whole state machinery is geared up to finish the labs at the earliest possible time, he assured.
It may be noted that the Kohima Bench of the Gauhati High Court had on April 28 ordered the Nagaland Government to set up at least two COVID-19 testing labs within 10-days.
