GPRN: Stop slavery upon Nagas Khaplang

Taking note of the “need of the hour” to forge out a solution to the Naga imbroglio there seems to be in urgent need to look into the problems faced by the Nagas in Myanmar.  With the wind of transformation taking place from the military ruled Junta to more friendly democratic systems of Government and the historic signing of Cease-fire between Nagas and Myanmerese. Expectations are flying high for Nagas living in Myanmar. Nagas of Myanmar were not only ignored but made to live as second class denizens, having faced innumerable hardship today the Nagas got an opportunity to catch up with the outside world.  Ending the decades old conflict, signed a bilateral cease-fire with the junta backed civilian government.

On observing the political scenario, the Eastern Nagas in Myanmar has regain hopes and could concretize their aspiration following the “giant-leap of transitional visibility” in democratic system. It is sign of positive and blessed clouds transcending upon the displaced Nagas in Myanmar to re-organise themselves.

The GPRN/NSCN informs Khaplang to stop using Nagas in Myanmar as potters, forceful labour which is claimed to be President Directive. Nagas have been used and treated in the status of donkeys under the directive of Khaplang, forced to carry baggage’s etc for several arms groups from Manipur, Assam etc without paying even a penny of wages. Eastern Nagas are being “enslaved and discriminated inhumanly to serve as potters”. Under the shadow of Khaplang’s dictating directive various arm groups from NE states are being sheltered, given safe haven and base at the cost of “blood and tears” of innocent Nagas. Which can no longer be tolerated come what may.

Since the Nagas living in Myanmar have no proper schooling facilities or accessible to amenities. They still come to Nagaland for education however; the Khaplang’s directive restricting the movement of eastern Nagas towards western Nagaland even for the purpose of education is completely illogical of sick mind-set. However, with the winds of revolutionize, it is anticipated that the Nagas in those area will be able to have a very noteworthy impact in future.

It is ironic that the Khaplang group boastfully preach about their struggle who claims themselves as “people’s friendly people’s based Government”  but fails to rescue own people even on their own kitchen. The hardship faced by the Konyak people of the following villages such as Honyat, Thruilo, Yenching, Wanya and Khamoi (LojI) villagers and surrounding villagers bear a living witness that cannot be compared or measured with anything that these villagers experienced the untold miseries, the sufferings under gone was unimaginable and unbearable which the words cannot express its sorrows and emotions.

In fact, Nagas have been deprived not only economic development, but also denied their human rights. Several years of suffering prejudices resulting some victimising and some even deaths in addition to many more traumatized. Act is to be enacted as deterrent against discrimination, The Nagas should be “left free from forced labours” and the “acts of slavery upon Nagas” as forced potters are stopped.

By shutting our eyes to the realities, the facts cannot be denied or washed away. It is time that all Nagas who want peaceful co-existence, support all efforts at different places so that those who have been deprived can deliver justice without prejudice and get their due share.
