GPRN Under-Secy killed; businessman abducted

Dimapur, August 26 (MExN): It is reported that an Under Secretary of the NSCN-IM was abducted and murdered by valley based-militants at Pallel Khullak on August 25. It was reported that the Under Secretary, Dilbung Ashing, was stopped at Pallel and taken away by two armed youths belonging to ‘valley-based militants’ in full view of public and police posting in that area. On receiving the information women organizations and public engaged in efforts to secure safe release of the abducted person. However, a short while later the dead body of the abducted official was found, it was informed.  

Meanwhile, condemning the murder the GPRN stated “it is a shame and pity on the part of Khaplang group who claimed themselves as Naga national workers and true Naga nationalist owned up responsibility whenever their fellow Naga was killed by the valley-based militants as a cover up and as taken of honor for their safety stay in Imphal valley areas.”

“The NSCN has lost thousands of precious souls of national workers since the declaration of ceasefire between the Government of India and the NSCN either in the hands of the Indian armies and her sponsored agencies or in the hands of valley-based militants. A time will come when the tolerances of the NSCN will be warned out and compelled to act on the same coin for which those perpetrators will be held responsible” stated an MIP, GPRN release. 

The organization also conveyed its condolences to the family members of Dilbung Ashing. “The supreme sacrifice and his undaunted spirit of Naga nationalism and service rendered for the Naga national struggle shall be ever remembered. The GPRN also pray that the almighty grant peace to the bereaved family members to overcome the ordeal and grant solace to the departed soul” it added.  

Also, in a separate statement the NSCN-IM, Angami region, stated that on August 25 five armed cadres of the NSCN-K abducted one Bode Angami, a businessman at Kohima, along with his wife. The cadres carjacked his vehicle and took them towards Kohima Science College “in order to murder them” stated the NSCN release issued by CAO of the Region T Keditsu. The abducted persons later escaped, it was added. The CAO condemned the act and asked all citizens to do the same.
