DIMAPUR, MARCH 21 (MExN): Members of the GPRN/NSCN, Designated Camp, Abao, under Mon district celebrated the 32nd Republic Day with President, Gen. (Retd) Kholi as the chief guest. The programme was attended by Kilonsers, Secretariat staff and Naga Army of the GPRN/NSCN. The Republic day celebration with the President included a grand feast and sports by the members.
Meanwhile, Designated Camp, Khehoi also celebrated republic day at the Council Headquarters, with Vitoi Aye, Defence Kilonser as the chief guest. The chief guest unfurled the National Flag and read out the president’s speech.
The Ato Kilonser, N. Kitovi Zhimomi in his short speech exhorted the National workers to be vigilant in all their undertakings and asked each member to clearly understand the political environment of the present times, and inform and educate the public on the status of the indo-Naga political struggle. Adding that, adhering to the call of the public and initiated by the FNR, the collective leaders had signed the covenant of Reconciliation, and thus, urged each member to live by the principles of non-violence and look towards eradicating all notions of misunderstandings amongst one another.
A two minute silent prayer was observed in respect for the martyrs who were killed in action during the call of duty.
Other highlights of the program included announcement of promotions in the Naga Army by the Defence Secretary, Inaka Tsuqu and a Republic day feast.
