GPRN/NSCN condemns Assam Rifle’s action

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 30 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN has issued a statement pointing out that Assam Rifle’s “as usual has shown their true colours” by raiding the house of a Deputy Kilonser Huvito Yeptho in the wee hours of 30th August at Kuhuboto Town. The team was led by an officer without a name or rank insignia but most probably a Major, stated the press note issued by the MIP.

It was alleged that the “roughs in uniform” raided the Deputy Kilonser’s house without any rhyme or reason while he was away and arrested a civilian worker Mr. Hokugha T.O. Sumi Region, who is under medical treatment and also Mr. Vihoto the younger brother of the Deputy Kilonser.

“Time and again, the Assam Rifles probably known as Assam Rakshahs are testing the patient of the peace loving people. Tomorrow the Assam Rakshahs will proclaim at the top of their voice that they have undertaken a dangerous operation in the heart of GPRN’s domain and arrested a wounded cadre under medical treatment the brother of Dy. Kilonser along with a camouflage halfpant”.

The GPRN/NSCN pointed out that Mr. Huvito Yeptho (Dy. Kilonser) is an Identity Card Holder and has every right to a Gun and live bullets for his protection. The Assam Rifles are asked to return the bullets and the half pants, which were taken away by the Officer who were ashamed of revealing either his Name or Rank, the note stated.

GPRN/NSCN stated that it does not issue camouflage half pants and that “it was bought from the market!!”
