Dimapur, November 16 (MExN): GPRN/NSCN under the leadership of President Gen. (Retd.) Khole Konyak and Ato Kilonser N Kitovi Zhimomi are set to celebrate the 6th Unification Day at Designated Camp Khehoi on 22nd November 2012. This was informed in a press note issued by MIP, GPRN/NSCN.
“The coming together of hundreds of spirited National workers from NSCN (IM) and NSCN (K), with the sole purpose of bringing all Naga revolutionaries together, was finally announced and peacefully achieved without a single shot being fired on 22nd Nov. 2007, at Hovukhu Village under UT I”, stated the press note.
Despite the many shortcomings, it stated that it was “the divine hand that continues to guide, protect and strengthen GPRN/NSCN Collective Leadership”. “GPRN/NSCN, in all humility, is convinced that God the creator of Naga homeland has been merciful as we prepare to welcome 6th Naga Unification day”.
It was also pointed out that it was an unprecedented move borne out of deep conviction and commitment of Naga patriots to pursue reconciliation and unity among the Nagas. “The stand is firm and commitment unshakable despite all attempts to malign the historic move with outrageous accusations on tribal lines and blatant distortion of facts”.
Stating that “to celebrate a historical event, discussion about the future is inevitable in the Naga context”, the MIP note informed that the GPRN/NSCN Leadership shall declare a step by step, pragmatic approach for the solution to indo-Naga political problem.
“A solution behind closed doors is unacceptable to the people and therefore pronouncing clear, practical political roadmap, based on people’s desire, shall be pursued. Opinion of the mass and will of the Nagas, represented by frontal leaders and tribal hoho leaders shall be acknowledged”, stated the MIP.
“In true democratic culture of the Nagas”, GPRN/NSCN invited all Naga frontal Organisations, Tribal Hohos, GBs, Mother’s Associations, Student bodies, Citizen Forums, Church leaders irrespective of denominations, non-Naga community organisations, local/national Print and electronic media fraternity, Naga social networking forums etc., to share platform with GPRN/NSCN President Gen. (Retd.) Khole Konyak and Ato Kilonser N Kitovi Zhimomi, on 22 November 2012, at 10:00 A.M, at Designated Camp Khehoi.
