GPRN/NSCN on AYO non-cooperation

Dimapur, August 17 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN today said that the “non-cooperation” movement against it by youth organizations of Kohima under aegis of the Angami Youth Organization (AYO) is “unacceptable”. To this affect the armed group has cautioned the AYO of “drastic measures.”

The GPRN/NSCN issued a note today asserting that it is a “national government” and “what the people had been generously offering for the last sixty years for the common cause of the Nagas cannot be stopped by AYO or any organisation.”

The note from the group’s ‘MIP’ served a warning that if the AYO disrupts the “smooth and cordial relationship between GPRN/NSCN civil and military personnel assigned to Kohima and the general public/well wishers,” any “drastic measure that is deemed fit” shall be “considered.”

The MIP note stated: The “August 12 publication of AYO” is something that is “way beyond the parameter of a youth organisation anywhere in Nagaland” and “is unprecedented in Naga history” and “a matter of serious consideration that a tribal youth organisation warning business community, contractors and suppliers, transporters in the state capital not to entertain GPRN/NSCN in any form.”

Contractors, business houses, transporters and suppliers cannot be dictated by AYO, the armed group stated. The GPRN/NSCN asserted that it is a “national government and it will continue to solicit contributions from commercial outlets and well wishers all over Naga homeland.” The AYO is “cautioned against acting like a man on a payroll of adversaries.”

“If AYO disrupts smooth and cordial relationship between GPRN/NSCN civil and military personnel assigned to Kohima and the general public/well wishers,” the GPRN/NSCN stated, “who supports and contributes towards the Naga cause, any drastic measure that is deemed fit to reaffirm the Naga cause shall be considered.”
