GPRN/NSCN seeks clarification from Senior Citizens Forum Mkg

DIMAPUR, MARCH 10 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN has taken note of the statement issued on 24th February 2011 by a group of gentlemen representing Concerned Senior Citizen Forum Mokokchung. While acknowledging the forum a press note issued by the MIP GPRN/NSCN has however sought clarification on the last point where the forum had called for “all factions to support the political negotiations between IM and GOI”. This needs urgent clarification”, stated the GPRN/NSCN.
The press note stated that Mr. Bendangangshi, Prof. Lanu Ao, Mr. Temjenkaba and group appeared to be “neck-deep in the 13 year old negotiations between IM and GOI” and since their last point appealed to every section of Naga society to “support the endless political negotiations between IM and GOI”, it was also their duty “to spell out clearly each and every point in the charter of demand submitted by IM to the GOI”.
The GPRN/NSCN stated that as concerned senior citizens, it was their bounden duty to clearly explain to the Naga people, as early as possible, whether integration issue and alternative political arrangement for a section of Nagas are above Naga sovereignty.  The GPRN/NSCN also stated that the “seeds of Naga nationalism were sown nearly a hundred years back and not in 1993, 1997 or 2002 in Amsterdam”. “At this hour, appealing and working for Reconciliation among the Nagas will earn more applause for Mr. Bendangangshi and group rather than rallying support for Indian constitution bound travelers”, it stated.
