DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 2 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN (Unification) has firmly rejected recent allegations made by former Ato Kilonser N Kitovi Zhimomi, who has accused the Unification government of being controlled by a small, select group of leaders.
In a press release issued by the GPRN/NSCN (U) Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), it refuted Kitovi’s claims, describing them as "fabricated and concocted" with the intent of discrediting the government.
According to the statement, Kitovi has been making these accusations since his expulsion from the Unification faction on April 21, 2024, after which he formed a new party with what the GPRN/NSCN (U) referred to as "a handful of habitual defectors."
The most prominent allegation from Kitovi is that the GPRN/NSCN (U) is dominated by five members from the Army Wing and eight from the Civil Wing.
It categorically dismissed this claim, calling it a "figment of imagination," emphasizing that all decisions are made collectively with extensive discussion among members.
The GPRN/NSCN (U) further undermined Kitovi’s credibility, noting that of the 170 members who purportedly joined his new faction, only Kilonser Honizhe Chishi had any prior association with the Unification government.
The other individuals, they said, were civilians promoted directly to high-ranking positions in Kitovi’s new organization, lured by promises of titles and power.
In its response, the GPRN/NSCN (U) labeled Kitovi a "discredited leader" and advised him to refrain from meddling in the operations of the Unification government.
The statement urged Kitovi to focus on his own party, which they described as unstable, while warning that leadership should prioritize the advancement of the people rather than personal ambitions.
