Kohima, November 28 (MExN): The Government Primary School, Peducha under Kiruphema village jurisdiction is all set to celebrate 50 years of its establishment under the theme ‘Towards New Horizon’ on December 5 at 10: 00 AM with Wonthongo Tsopoe, Director of School Education Nagaland as the chief guest.
GPS Peducha consists of Grades from A to 4 with a total enrolment of 92 students at present and run by 3 teachers. It was established in 1967 and is managed by the department of education. It is rural area and is located in Sechu Zubza block of Kohima district.
The teachers are professionally qualified but facing many hardships due to shortage of teachers as they conduct two classes each at the same timing to teach the children and complete the courses.
Meanwhile, the school is non-residential in nature and is not using school building as a shift-school. English is the medium of instructions in this school. The school is approachable by all weather roads and the school academic session starts in February. Source of Drinking Water in the school is tap water and it is functional, school has toilet for both boys and girls and does not need ramp for disabled children to access classrooms.
School has Government building with no library facilities. It has got 6 classrooms for instructional purposes and must be repair at the earliest, school has a one separate room for teachers.
The school is provided and prepared in school premises providing mid-day meal, school has one computer for teaching and learning purposes. Moreover, the school has a playground.
