Grace revival third day; concludes May 3

Dimapur, May 2 (MExN): Grace Revival organized by the Sinai Ministry and Faith Harvest Church, continued for the third day at IMC Hall, Dimapur. In the morning session, Pastor Gabriel Tan, spoke on the New Covenant drawing a clear distinction between the Old and the New Covenant, emphasizing that we now live under the New Covenant- a covenant of grace which God has, by his own choice, bound Himself to fulfilling. Pastor Tan explained, “There is a basis for our forgiveness of sins and salvation. The basis is the New Covenant.”

Tan led the congregation to come to understand the severity of the Old Covenant by juxtaposing the Mosaic law and the Grace in Christ Jesus. He elaborated, “The Law is perfect, holy and just. But the Law cannot make us perfect, holy and just. It is like a mirror that tells us how flawed and imperfect we are.” He further presented the clear revelation that the purpose of the Law was to make man realize the need to be perfect on his own. The solution is found in the person of Jesus Christ who was the only one who could keep the Law in its perfect and pristine standard, he said. The Old Covenant of Law has been made obsolete and we are now a generation living under Grace. “What are we to do on our part? Our part is to rest in this Grace and allow its revelation to enable us to love God back.”

After the session with Pastor Tan, Pastor Lawrence Lim, joined by Pastor Gabriel Tan and Pastor Shan Kikon, led the whole congregation into a time of special impartation prayer of anointing where every person in the congregation was laid hands on and prayed over.

Pastor Shan Kikon, speaker of the evening session began his sermon by saying that grace is not a topic but the entire message of the Gospel, and when understood, can free us from the bondages of legalism. He explained the difference between the Old and the New Covenant by using the analogy of an economy. “The economy of the Law rests on man’s performance and works, but through the finished work of Christ, we are now under a new economy.” Saying that the message of Grace is not talked about enough, Pastor Shan Kikon said when we understand it was God who first loved us, we are enabled to love Him back without even being demanded to. “Under the Law, there is a remembrance of sins, but under Grace, God says that our sins and lawless deeds He will remember no more." He expounded that the understanding that Christ has forgiven our sins - past, present and future enables us to respond and draw near to God, confident that He sees us as righteous. “The currency of the Law was law-keeping. Under Grace, the currency is faith in Jesus and his finished work.” The last day of the Revival meeting will be on May 3.
