Peren, August 8 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner of Peren, Hiazu Meru, on August 6 inaugurated the 'Green Peren' store at Jalukie Town, a long-pending initiative aimed at providing market access to local farmers.
The store, conceptualised under the banner “Our land nourishes us. Our hands grow it. Our pride shares it. And our future sustains it,” marks a significant milestone for the District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) of Peren, which had been discussing the project for the past two years, stated a DIPR report.
Speaking at the inauguration, Meru said the initiative would benefit farmers across the district by creating a dedicated platform for their produce. He noted that various departments, including Agriculture & Allied and Rural Development, had taken multiple interventions to make the project a reality.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need to upskill with available materials and resources while urging the managing entity, Kingdom Steward, to adopt a sustainable business model despite the inherent risks in marketing farm products.
Meru also called upon the youth associated with the venture to work with dedication and enthusiasm, and to master the skills required to ensure the store's long-term success. Expressing his happiness the DC concluded that the initiative has come into reality.
