Tuensang, July 23 (MExN): The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Tuensang, on July 23 reviewed the impact of continuous rainfall in the district, with officials reporting property damage, landslides and road blockages but no loss of life so far.
An emergency meeting of the DDMA, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, was held at the DC's office to assess the situation and review the damage caused by the ongoing monsoon.
During the meeting, officials informed that the District Transport Office complex near the Post Office in Tuensang has been affected by ground sinking, prompting the relocation of 39 families to safer locations.
The deputy commissioner said the District Emergency Control Room has been activated at the Circuit House, while a relief camp will be made operational at the earliest.
Rutsa urged all departments and stakeholders to remain vigilant and respond promptly to ensure public safety. The meeting also reviewed the availability and distribution of essential commodities in the district amid the ongoing weather situation.
