Guidelines for hotels and restaurants in Kohima

Kohima, November 8 (MExN): The Kohima Hotel & Restaurant Union has informed all the hotels and restaurants in and around Kohima Town to maintain cleanliness in view of the approaching Hornbill Festival.

For this purpose, the union in a press release has issued some guidelines.  

Hotel owners have been requested to serve hygienically prepared good food to customers as well as visiting tourists. As suggested by Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, security will be provided to all the important hotels by the administration and hence arrangement should be made for their stay while in duty, stated the release from Theyiehu Rutsa, Member and N. Theyo, President of the union.   In view of prohibition of alcohol in Nagaland, hotel and restaurants are not permitted to serve any kind of alcohol to customers, it reminded.  

Meanwhile, the release stated clean drinking water facility should be provided and the hotels and restaurants should be kept free from flies. Restaurants and hotel attendants must wear clean clothes while serving food or working in the kitchen, it said, adding washing basins and toilets should be kept clean.  

Stating that last year, a theft case was reported in a hotel in Kohima Town, the union said Managers/ Caretakers of hotels should be vigilant and care should be taken by all hotel owners to see that such kind of act does not happen in any hotel.  

The union has constituted a team of members for inspection of the above arrangements and in case of any deviation, the matter will be reported to the authority concerned for necessary action, the release added.
