Maligaon, August 25 (MExN): The 02346 Guwahati- Howrah Special Express derailed near Chaygaon Station in the Guwahati-Goalpara-New Bongaigon section under Rangiya divison of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Zone on Wednesday.
According to a press release from the NFR Chief Public Relations Officer, four coaches of the train including the pantry car derailed during the incident. No injury or casualties to passengers were reported and passengers of the affected coaches were shifted to other coaches.
On receiving the information, Accident Relief Train and Accident Relief Medical Equipment train immediately rushed to the site along with senior railway officers from the headquarter and Rangiya division. Necessary assistance is being provided to all the passengers and restoration work has already started, the release stated.
