Newmai News Network Imphal | April 10 The election of the post of chairman of Hill Areas Committee (HAC), Manipur Legislative Assembly has been scheduled to be held on April 12, according to a notification issued today. The Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretariat issued the notification for the election for which BJP MLA V Hangkhalian has been appointed member of the HAC to preside the election. The election will be held at 11:00 am of April 12 in the committee room of the assembly secretariat. The last date for proposing member for the office of the HAC chairman is before noon of April 11. Article 371 (C) of the India Constitution provides a special provision for the legislation and the administration of the hill areas of Manipur in the form of Hill Area Committee. All 20 MLAs elected from the hill districts (ST) of the state are the members of the Hill Areas Committee (HAC) at the 60-member Manipur Legislative Assembly.
