Peren, May 31 (MExN): The inaugural function of Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme on handicraft training for six weeks was held on May 28 at Songlhuh Ahthibung, Peren district under the sponsorship of Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI). The training is organized by Rural Multipurpose Society (RMS), Dimapur in collaboration with Kuki Inpi Nagaland.
The objective of the training is formalizing the informal by providing a hands-on training; laying a platform for days of training facilities to upgrade the skills of semi-kill handcrafters. Mainstreaming the trainees will not only help in improving the quality of life but contribute sustainability to job creation leading to income distribution and reduction in poverty, a press release received here said.
EAC Ahthibung, Lithrila Sangtam applauded Rural Multipurpose Society for taking up such a valuable programme and credited SIDBI for sponsoring this kind of ventures to uproot the unemployed youth.
Manager of SIDBI, Dimapur Branch, Pauminthang Gangte elucidated about SIDBI programme on ESDP. SBI Jalukie Branch, Field Officer C. Anal produced the facts about MUDRA Scheme under SBI Jalukie Branch. Bhuyan, Director RSETI-SBI Peren also presented the different training facilities under SBI RSETI provided to any person at least with Class V certificate if necessary.
Other delegates who spoke on different topics include LL Kuki, Chairman RMS, Sesei Khongsai, Secretary, RMS, Silas Khongsai, Jt. Secy., RMS, and Lamsei, President, ZKPO.
30 trainees were present at the inaugural programme.
