Has the cleansing been achieved in the NPSC?

Now that the viva voce for NPSC 2005 has began I would first of all wish all selected candidates for viva voce all the very best. But again as always I have serious doubts about if this NPSC results would be as clean as we expect.

Has the recent controversy brought about the desired result that we really wanted? Is it just the suspension of two out of all those involved in the scam that we wanted, what about the rest of them? When someone from the department as high as deputy secretary is involved we don’t know how long this racket has has been going on. We cannot even guess how big the racket will be.

Now that some of those involved who were within the department are apprehended it won’t be difficult to dig out those outside of it. Yes it will not be an easy task to weed them out because many officers who have got through our state’s most prestigious exam because of their cash power or high connections have rose through the rank in the state administration. But we should not forget that because of those corruptors some very capable persons are deprived of what they should be despite being honest and capable officers. Now who will repay those who are deprived for their mental and physical anguish, frustration? Yes they have destroyed the lives and career not only of the candidate but also of their families too.

We can guarantee that someone who has succeeded through unfair means will surely be a corrupt officer or employee. So now the question again is who are the real culprits, the corrupt NPSC official or those corrupt candidates and now officers? Should some be punished and some equally responsible be let scot free? I can only say that even if they may be high officials they are not to be treated differently. They should also face the same consequence as those lucky NPSC officials caught in the act. The NSF, ANCSE, PGSUNU and all NGOS that are sincerely fighting for justice should be impartial. Those deprived cannot be compensated but the real culprits who are enjoying should be brought to book or we are going their way. Justice must prevail at all cost.
