Mon, May 20 (MExN): Health Mela 2018 under Mon district was held at Angjangyang village on May 19. Free multispecialty health care services and health awareness were provided at the Mela, according to a press release.
The District Health Society (DHS) Mon had chosen the said village as it has no health unit and Health Mela under DHS had not been held there in the recent years.
The Mela covered four villages – Angjangyang, Changlang, Jakphang and Angphang – and provided services like gynaecology, paediatrics, ENT, dental, etc. Free medicines were also distributed to the patients.
The press release mentioned the break-up of numbers of patients as under: 18 gynaecology, 11 ANC, 30 Copper T INSERT IGNOREions, 82 paediatrics, 27 ENT, 20 dental out of which 15 were extractions, 56 lab tests which included blood grouping (ABO), sugar (RBS), VDRL, ICTC, MP, AFB, hemoglobin, pregnancy test, and the rest of the cases were under general.
The camp was assisted by Dr Akaba, Deputy CMO, Mon, Dr Supongmeren, SMO (Gynaecologist), Dr Chingmang Paul (Pediatrician), Dr Yingnai (ENT), Dr Neiphrezo Sorünuo (Dental Surgeon), Dr Manom, Dr Lauba, and Dr Limajungshi along with 6 nurses, 2 lab technicians, 1 vaccinator, 2 pharmacists, along with the non-technical staffs of the block, the release added.
