
Dimapur, March 21 (MExN): NPCDCS, NCD Clinic Dimapur organised healthy lifestyle camp on March 18 at Niuland PHC to screen Non Communicable Diseases (NCD) for early detection, control and treatment of these diseases.
The common non communicable diseases are diabetes, hypertension, stroke, cardiovascular diseases and cancer which are the result of tobacco use, sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy food habits. Early detection is crucial for treatment of these NCD diseases, stated a press release.
The healthy lifestyle camp was lead by Dr. Temsusashi, Senior Specialist cum Nodal Officer NCD Clinic Dimapur and assisted by medical officers and staff under Niuland PHC and Doctors from Dimapur. Beneficiaries who availed the services during the camp were screened for Diabetes, BP, Stroke cases etc along with other general OPD check up. About 200 patients were screened and given free medicines along with leaflets on awareness and prevention of these diseases.
Dr. Temsusashi advised patients on the danger of tobacco use and also informed beneficiaries that these common non communicable diseases can be easily prevented by changing our lifestyle, being physically active and reducing intake of unhealthy food habits. The beneficiaries were also informed on the resources and services available in our District for further checkups and for future references.
Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi, Chief Medical Officer Dimapur along with staff also visited the camp for monitoring and supervision.
