Dimapur, September 13 (MExN): Help Nagaland Breathe (HNB), a COVID-19 relief fundraiser, has distributed medical equipment and supplies to nine districts, 33 healthcare centres in Nagaland under its Phase 2 distribution from August 4 to September 2.
In August, a press release from HNB said that it received its 15th donor and the second consignment from Goonj, an NGO in New Delhi. The shipment consisted of 50000 3-ply masks, 2500 sanitizers, 500 oximeters, 1000 digital thermometers, 25000 gloves, 500 infrared temperature guns and other multivitamins while the second shipment from Goonj consisted of 400 oxygen regulators and 600 oxygen masks which will be distributed under Phase 2 and Phase 3.
Other medical supplies were donated by various donors across India such as United Way Bangalore, Hemkunt Foundation, Sauramandala Foundation, Jeevan Foundation, Meddo Foundation, India COVID SOS, IIT Kanpur, Crypto Relief, Sahibul Ahmed, and 02 for India.
The following medical equipments were distributed under Phase 2: 100 Oxygen cylinders (D type – 46.5 l), 25 Oxygen cylinders (B type -10l), 10 BiPaP machines, 332 Oximeters, 6 Oxygen concentrators (10L), 10 Oxygen Concentrators (5L), 532 NRB masks, 200 N95 masks, 980 PPE kits, 532 Thermometers, 1000 Medicine pack, 40 Oxygen masks, 24 Regulators with flowmeter & Humidifier, 1650 Sanitizers (100 ml), 2600 Home isolation kit (paracetamol, vitamins, ORS) , 1560 Gloves, 26 Temperature guns, 5500 3 ply masks.
Under the second phase, in the past month, the medical supplies have been distributed to beneficiaries in the districts of Kohima (Chiephobozou CHC, Tsieminyu CHC, Thizama 4th NAP Hospital, Viswema CHC, Zubza PHC, Police Medical Unit, New Reserve), Mokokchung (Changtongya CHC, Mangkolemba CHC, Mokokchung DH, Tsurangkong PHC, Tuli CHC), Mon (Aboi CHC, Mon DH, Tobu CHC), Noklak ( Noklak DH, Panso PHC, Thono PHC), Peren ( Athibung CHC, Jalukie CHC), Phek (Chozuba CHC, Meluri CHC, Pfutsero CHC), Wokha ( Bhandari CHC, Chudi HWC, District Hospital, Lakhuti PHC, Sanis CHC, Sungro PHC, UPHC), Zunheboto ( Akuluto PHC, Pughoboto CHC), and Tuensang ( Longkhim CHC, Noksen PHC, Tuensang DH).
HNB said that the distribution of the aid was done after a needs analysis conducted by the members of the HNB team. Invaluable insights were gathered from medical experts and frontline workers, healthcare administrators, service providers and government representatives. “HNB intends to assist the already ongoing work of the local government, along with international organisations and community organisations,” it stated.
HNB is currently working on the final phase of distribution and will wrap up the campaign by the end of September. HNB ensures equitable and transparent distribution of all accrued supplies and details of all shipments can be found on their website, it added.
