H&FW state level review meet held

Kohima, September 3 (MExN): A State level review meeting of Chief Medical Officers (CMOs), Medical Superintendents (MSs), SPOs, and POs was held at the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) conference hall on August 29 and 30.  

70 participants from all districts and the directorate took part in the two-day meeting, during which, Dr. Thanghoi Lam, SPO (NHM) comprehensively covered the State’s performance for the financial year 2015-2016.  

On the first day of the meeting, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, Jt. Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, HFW, said the meeting is an opportunity to exchange ideas and give feedbacks to improve the existing situations. He also suggested for more of such meetings to be held in the days to come.  

Dr. Yankho Lotha, Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM) in his introductory speech welcomed the house and also stressed on the much needed improvement of administration and performance of the concerned officers.  

The meeting saw presentations from all vertical programmes by concerned SPOs and Pos, extensive discussion hours on both days, wrapping up on all pertaining issues and grievances.  

Maongwati Aier, IAS, Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, HFW, in his exhortation underlined the ongoing RTI issues in the department stating that, as far as legal matters and RTI disclosures are concerned, accounting and paper works should be flawless with valid and accurate reporting.  

Dr. L. Watikala, Principal Director, HFW, in conclusion remark, thanked everyone for their active participation. She added that this was one of the most fruitful review meetings conducted in the department.  

Joining the meeting on the second day was Smita Sarangi, IAS, Jt. Secretary to the Government of Nagaland. The meeting was chaired and co-chaired by Jt. Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, HFW and Principal Director, DHFW respectively.
