Imphal, June 27 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Civil Organisations (ZCOs) through its Media and Publicity Cell on Monday stated that considering the ground reality, it wants ‘political solution out of the political negotiation which has been going on between the different Naga political groups and Government of India (GoI).’
According to the ZCOs, ‘Zeliangrong is one of the stakeholders of the Naga political issue and simultaneously, law abiding citizen of India, until and unless the Nagas attain its complete sovereign State status.’ ‘Therefore, attending in any consultative meeting convened by any political groups to know the details and progress of the political negotiation between the GoI and the Naga political negotiating groups should not be construed or misconceived as anti Naga nor anti India,’ it stated.
Zeliangrong being one of the major communities as such Zeliangrong brothers are found enrolled in almost all the Naga political groups i.e. NSCN (IM), NSCN(R), NSCN (NK), NSCN (U), NNC, FGN etc apart from ZUF which are engaged in political negotiation with the GoI. Therefore, it said, “Zeliangrong cannot disown or abandon their own brothers who are enrolled in different Naga political groups so it is required for the leaders of the Civil Organisations to know the progress and details of the political negotiation of any negotiating groups.”
It reiterated that ZCOs have already made it clear that there is no reservation or hesitation to sit across the table with any political groups in free and fair manner who are engaged in political negotiation with the GoI since Zeliangrong is one of the stakeholders of the Naga political issue.
“The situation of Zeliangrong people is not same with the other Naga tribes because Zeliangrong people are not concentrated in specific areas nor confined in a single Sub Division, District or State but lives in different areas, Sub Divisions, Districts or States where different laws of the respective States are being administered upon. What is applicable in Manipur State is not practicable in Nagaland and Assam or vice versa,” it said.
The organisations also cautioned that ‘Zeliangrong people should be very cautious in all social or political issues because slight negligence could hurt the interest and sentiment of our own people who lives in different States.’
Further, it said that RNPO and RNCM trying to cast the ZCOs in the wrong light is very unfortunate. “It would be better if RNPO and RNCM try to understand the ground reality before hurling baseless allegation upon ZCOs,” it said while adding, “It is high time to think for collective future because Naga people political solution is for all Nagas where no single Naga can differentiate or discriminate against another.”
