Zunheboto, July 6 (MExN): Hikali Achumi was crowned Miss Sumi 2022, while Linovi P Kiba bagged the First Runner-Up title, and Niloli Wotsa won the title of Second Runner-Up during a glamorous ceremony at Town Hall, Zunheboto on July 5.
The event marked 25 years of the Miss Sumi pageant which is organised by the Sumi Totimi Hoho.
On the occasion, Nagaland Advisor for School Education and SCERT KT Sukhalu said that the contestants in pageants such as Miss Sumi, Miss Nagaland, etc., should be ‘women of substance,’ and also spoke about how parents should allow and support their children to venture out on their own.
A souvenir was also released by Ikheni Yepthomi while Dr Daniel, Pastor ZTSBC, pronounced the anniversary prayer.
For the Miss Sumi pageant, the title winner received a cash prize of Rs 50,000 while the First and Second runners-up received Rs 30,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively.
Besides these, the subtitle holders were Vinivi B Aye (Miss Rampwalk); Likivi N Awomi (Miss Beautiful Smile); Lika A Zhimo (Miss Congeniality); Kiholi Kiho (Miss Queen of Hearts); Ilino K Zhimo (Miss Fluent Sütsah; Vinivi Aye (Miss Beautiful Skin); Likhevi Yeptho (Best Rampwalk); and Bonotoli Chishi (Miss Photogenic).
Overall, a total of 17 contestants competed for the silver crown Miss Sumi 2022.
The event also witnessed performances from artist including Alobo Naga, Kihika Achumi, Fame Steppers Crew, Ashito Awomi and PK Toli.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Tavinto Chishi and invocation was pronounced by Dr Hutton Sumi, Pastor of SBCZ.
