Hoho flays rape incidents during festive seasons

Dimapur, January 14 (MExN): The Western Yimchungrü Hoho has flayed the rape incidents that took place in the state during the festive seasons which was against the norms of “Christianity and humanity” as well.
The hoho in a press statement issued by its information and publicity secretary Matthew K Janger said that it views incidents like rape, molestation and abuse of women as threat to the developing Naga society as Nagas are at a transition period.
“These atrocities against women should be stopped immediately while the law enforcing agencies should book the culprits at the earliest and award punishment according to the constitution of India under article 375 (J) 7 years imprisonments which may extend to 10 years or sentence to life imprisonment,” it stated.
Moreover, Matthew K Janger also appealed: “I on behalf of the Hoho request the younger generation to indicate a sense of respect for women which would be better for the Naga society. These incidents would further divide Nagas as a family so everyone should respect the emotions of one another so as to build up a better and stronger Naga family.”
