Dimapur, November 27 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) today said that the Department of School Education is not willing to conduct the examination for nine posts of primary teachers advertised on April 21 for indigenous inhabitants of Peren district. It is not conducted despite repeated appeals and request from the Union and the public of Peren district, ZSUN stated in a press release issued by its President Asappe Zeliang and General Secretary Francis Newmai. While lauding the removal of non-indigenous primary teachers in the district and subsequent advertisement for the vacated post, the ZSUN wondered why the department was not honouring “its own Office and its advertisement.” “This kind of action is misleading and unbecoming of such a responsible Department of the State tasked with educating the futures of the State,” it added. In this regard, the Union had served an ultimatum to the Minister of School Education on November 20, it said. The ultimatum directed the department to conduct the examination before November 30 failing which, the Union shall take its own course of action, the ZSUN added.
