Kohima, April 27 (MExN): Norman Putsure College hosted an entrepreneurship workshop with Honey Twigs, a company that gained national attention through its appearance on Shark Tank India, at its campus on April 26.

The workshop was facilitated by Nancy Nisa Beso, a consultant for the college, who coordinated the company’s visit. Representing Honey Twigs, spokesperson Jigar Mehta shared the company’s journey, mission, and insights into entrepreneurship with students and faculty members.

Mehta spoke about his professional experiences in India and England and recounted how Honey Twigs originated from his dissertation project during his master’s program. He emphasized that an entrepreneur identifies market problems and transforms them into opportunities through innovative solutions.

Founded in 2015, Honey Twigs aims to revolutionize honey consumption with its eco-friendly, reusable plastic twigs designed for easy, mess-free use. The company, which exports internationally, also prides itself on producing antibiotic-free, high-quality honey at a time when honey remains one of the most adulterated food products in the market.

Mehta highlighted Honey Twigs’ commitment to sustainability by ensuring 60% of the honey remains for bees and using eco-friendly materials. He also introduced the students to the company’s range of flavored honey varieties, including lemon, cinnamon, vanilla, ginger, and turmeric.

In addition to product innovation, Mehta stressed the importance of understanding market dynamics, catering to consumer needs, ensuring timely delivery, utilizing UPI payment systems, and maintaining strong customer service practices.

The session concluded with a video clip showcasing Honey Twigs’ pitch on Shark Tank India, which Mehta described as a validation of their business model and a significant platform to connect with a broader consumer base. The workshop ended with an interactive question-and-answer session, where students engaged with queries about the company’s operations and broader entrepreneurial strategies.
