Papu Yadav, Hari Kumar to grace day four event

  MPs Papu Yadav along with lady wife including Air Marshal C. Hari Kumar, AVSM VM VSM, AOC-in- C EAC will be gracing the day four events on December 4 at Kisama.   Prize distribution of state level vegetable, fruits and spice show, online registration of farmers and exhibition cum sale of flowers continue from 8:30 to 3:00 PM at Kisama.   Flag off of 5th annual Hornbill Cycle Rally & Mountain Biking under the aegis of Alaphra Group at 8:00 AM and culminates at WW II museum Kisama for prize distribution at 3:30 PM.   Flag off of 4th Hornbill Rider’s Meet from the Directorate of Tourism Kohima to Khezhakeno under the aegis of Nagaland Motorcyle Club at 10:00 AM.   Exhibition cum sale of handloom and handicraft products continues, HIPFEST 2016 continues, Naga Chef Competition continues, craftscape 2016 at Kisama continues, Hornbill night carnival continues.   Kohima launch of Hornbill International Music Festival 2016 will also take place on December 4.     HORNBILL FESTIVAL DAY 4 (DEC 4) HIGHLIGHTS  

Culturally Yours

  “Culturally yours,” daily cultural performances by various Naga tribes under the aegis of the department of art and culture continue on December 4 at Kisama. It will start from 10:00 AM till 2:30 PM. First session from 10: 00 AM to 12:00 noon and second session from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM.   Chingdang Village Cultural Troupe (Konyak) will display Aoleang Mo-Hem, Waromong Village Cultural Troupe (Ao)-Manku- Yimrong Malu Dance, Phaijol Village Cultural Troupe (Kuki)- Vakol Lal, Kithagha Village Cultural Troupe (Rengma)- Folk song, Phoyisha Range Cultural Troupe (Pochury)- Kughuni, Pholami Village Cultural Troupe (Chakhesang)- Mukrokuvu Li, Mezoma Village Cultural Troupe (Angami)-Ketssa Mhayie Zho, Tuensang Village Cultural Troupe (Chang)-Kholou Souk A Eh Yungbu, Yehemi Village Cultural Troupe (Sumi)- Folk song, Wokha Village Cultural Troupe (Lotha)- war dance, Kachari Cultural Troupe, Purana Bazar (Dimapur)-Mwsanglangnal, Sangphur Village Cultural Troupe (Yimchunger)- Chie Tongsak Khi, Nsong Village Cultural Troupe (Zeliang)- Folk Dance, Orangkong Village Cultural Troupe (Longleng, Phom)- Jholu Khobo, Ekranipathar Village Cultural Troupe (Dimapur) Garo- Folk song, Pathso Nokeng Cultural Troupe (Khiamniungan)- Common folk dance while Angangba Village Cultural Troupe (Sangtam) will display Angtong.    

6th Hornbill half marathon

  Around 300 runners are expected to take part in the 6th Hornbill Half Marathon on December 4 from 7: 00 AM at New Secretariat junction.   There will be will be 3 (three) race categories –Half Marathon (21.0975 KM for men and women. will start at 7:00 AM. The route will be New Secretariat (Start)-High School junction-IG Stadium-High Court junction-Army Camp Tsiesema-back to High Court junction-DEO junction-New Secretariat (Finish).   Great Hornbill Run (11.9 KM) for boys and girls of Class 10 & below will start at 7:10 AM and the route will be New Secretariat (Start)-High School junction-IG Stadium-High Court junction, DEO junction-New Secretariat (Finish).   The 3rd category will be the Special Lap for persons with special needs under the theme “Hornbill for all” which will be flagged off at 7:20 AM at New Secretariat junction and will cover a distance of about 400 metres (to and fro along Secretariat road). Around 35 participants from Cherry Blossoms School will take part in the race and they will be accompanied by some voluntary participants including Khriehu Liezietsu, parliamentary secretary for youth resources and sports, state lotteries and Music Task Force, local celebrities, prominent sportspersons, public leaders and others from different walks of life who have joined the event to show solidarity and belongingness to the participants with disabilities at this time of festivities going on in the state capital. All the participants with special needs will receive gift hampers from the proceeds of 6th Hornbill Half Marathon registration.   Participants of all categories are informed to reach the start venue at 6:00 AM for collection of start passes and proceed to the holding area at Secretariat parking lot.    

Coloring, drawing, painting competition

  Coloring, drawing and painting competition as part of the Kids Carnival will be take place on December 4. Coloring competition is design for class for A-3 at 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.   Drawing competition on favourite cartoon character is for Classes 4- 6. The winner will get Rs. 2000 and runner-up will pocket Rs. 1000.   Painting on “Animating My Root and Dreams” for classes 7-9 and classes 10-12 will take place at 2:00 PM.   The winner will pocket a cash prize of Rs. 5000 while runners-up will receive Rs. 3000.
