Kiphire, May 23 (MExN): One day campaign on human-animal conflict mitigation was held at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall Kiphire organized by Wild Life Division, Kiphire in collaboration with Citizens’ Welfare Society (CWS), Kiphire.
A press release from Media cell, CWS said that Satya Prakash Tripathi, IFS PCCF & Chief Wild Life Warden Nagaland, Suman Sivachar, IFS Wild Life Warden and Rajesh, IFS DFS, Kiphire were the resource persons.
They highlighted the threat to wildlife, its importance and their role in maintaining ecological balance and how to safeguard it from extinction. Stating that Nagaland is a unique state from the rest of the country, the land and forest belongs to community and individual and therefore, appealed respective councils or community to be enthusiastic and contribute, in initiate and take action for protection, preservation and conservation of wildlife so as to ensure its sustenance and continuity for the generation to come, the release added.
Prakash Tripathi, Chief Wild Life Warden Nagaland also encouraged the council and community to make resolution to protect wildlife and the department and take up initiatives for assistance if implemented accordingly. This campaign focused on Village Union Officials, Councils, VDBs, GBs, Church Leaders and other NGOs with an objective that the responsible leaders should first understand the value and importance of Wildlife and should have right mindset with a right sense of responsibility towards nature and wildlife.
Kumar Ramnikant, IAS ADC Kiphire also exhorted the participants to protect wild plant and animal species and their habitat. “Wildlife plays an important role in balancing the environment and provides stability to different natural processes of nature,” he added.
