Humtso village celebrates Tokhü Emong Festival

Wokha, November 7 (MExN): Humtso village under Wokha district celebrated Tokhü Emong Festival at the Humtso village football ground on November 7. The event was graced by Orenbomo Humtsoe, District Planning Officer, Wokha, as the special guest.

In his address, the special guest emphasised that Humtso village holds a rich history and tradition, signifying its heritage as a village of warriors. He underscored the importance of determination and bravery within the community, a press release received here stated. 

Furthermore, he highlighted the significance of Tokhü Emong, describing it as a festival of forgiveness, love, and reconciliation. He challenged the gathering to embrace this festival as an opportunity for fostering peace and unity among the villagers, urging them to set a positive example for others.

He also stressed the importance of true friendship as a catalyst for unity, encouraging the community to demonstrate unity through their actions and words, while supporting one another.

Moreover, he motivated the gathering to express gratitude to God for the countless blessings bestowed upon their village.

 Despite its relatively small population compared to neighboring villages, he acknowledged that Humtso village has been blessed with numerous officers.

The DPO Wokha also urged the community to cherish the church and highlighted its pivotal role in uplifting society. He emphasised the importance of supporting and contributing to society, noting the unseen blessings that arise from such contributions. He encouraged individuals to explore opportunities by seizing the right moment.

The programme was chaired by Yilobemo Humtsoe, and welcome address was delivered by Rhanbemo Humtsoe, Chairman, Humtso Village Council. The Tokhü story was narrated by Nsemo Yanthan, and a blessing prayer was conducted by Bikhamo Yanthan, Pastor, Humtso Baptist Church. Folk song and Tokhü song were presented by Eboe Okho and Renchumlo Humtsoe respectively. Vote of thanks was delivered by N Peter Humtsoe, VDB Secretary, Humtso village, and the benediction was pronounced by Nzanthung Humtsoe, Associate Pastor of Humtso Baptist Church. Also short speeches were delivered by Lumchio Humtsoe and Nkhyingo Humtsoe.
