IAPNB issues advisory for students on physiotherapy courses

Dimapur, July 25 (MExN): The Indian Association of Physiotherapist Nagaland Branch (IAPNB) on Sunday took note of advertisements in the local media by various institutions offering Physiotherapy course and offered advice on some criteria, which it said, should be checked properly by every aspiring student before taking up such courses.

Physiotherapy is not a paramedical course and does not come under the umbrella of paramedical or rehabilitation council, it stated. The Association further added that, with the formation of the National commission for Allied and Health Care Professional Bill, there will be stricter regulations of the profession and in the coming days, there are chances that many institutions which are not properly affiliated/registered and does not fulfill the criteria laid down by the council would be highly affected.

In this regard, the Association encouraged the aspiring students to look for institutions which are under the State council like Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, Kerala etc.

It urged the aspiring students to choose wisely taking in to account the mentioned points.

While clarifying that it has no role in the admission process, nor is it linked with any University, the IAPNB added that, it can be contacted for queries or clarifications in the following numbers: 6009075522/7005713151.
