ICCR and Music Concordia Academy presents ‘Blending Melodies’

The Indian Council for Cultural Relation, ICCR, Regional Office, Shillong in collaboration with Concordia Academy of Music, Kohima yesterday presented a musical evening on the theme ‘Blending melodies’ at Where’s The Food Restaurant, New Minister’s Hill, Kohima.
Regional Director of ICCR Shillong, Munish Singh and popular local artist Methaneilie Jutakhrie graced the occasion as chief guest and special guest.
In his address, Munish expressed happiness that Concordia Music Academy was making efforts in preserving the traditional tunes and also imparting the western music among the local youths. Nonetheless, he encouraged the young talents to come up with own compositions.
He assured that ICCR was ever ready to promote them within and outside the country through cultural exchange programme.
In this, he asked the music academy to empanel itself with ICCR and constitute a regular group of performing artist.
Young and upcoming local artists – Rüülhouvinuo (Avi) Rutsa, Keneisenuo Sorhie, Kekrusanuo Kulnu, Zekuosa Zhale, Khriesakuonuo Rutsa, Mhaphruosinuo Rutsa, Sungtimen Alinger and Ledilhounuo Sekhose presented various items including folk songs, folk fusion, piano recital and western music.
Mezhuvonuo Suohu was the compere while Kevin Solo tendered the vote of thanks.
