Dimapur, October 7 (MExN): ICFAI University Nagaland (IUN) observed its 6th NJY Memorial Lecture Day on October 7 at the IUN auditorium, commemorating Late NJ Yasaswy, the founder of ICFAI Group of Educational Institutions. It was organised by the Department of Economics. The Head of the Department of Economics, Sumanta Kumar Mahapatra, briefed about the founder of the ICFAI Group of Institutions. Dr. Pradip Chakraborty, Assistant Professor and IQAC Co-ordinator, Public College of Commerce, Dimapur, who was the guest speaker, spoke on the topic, ‘Tourism and its prospect in Nagaland.’ Nagaland, he said, has enough potential for development of tourism industry but lacks in many aspects to attract tourists, according to a press release. Therefore, in order to develop tourism in the state there is a need of coordination between the factors determining the growth of tourism industry – the government, local people, media, and Department of Tourism, Nagaland, he added. The most important aspect, according to him, is to popularize the tourist attractions of Nagaland and to create a tourism friendly environment throughout the state.
