Iconic Week: Nagaland pays tribute to Netaji

The unfurling of 126 National Flags for commemorating the 126th Birth Anniversary of Netaj Subhash Chandra Bose was held on January 18 at Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima with Chief Secretary Nagaland, J Alam, IAS as the special guest. During occasion, 126 National Flags were unfurled at the Civil Secretariat Plaza led by Chief Secretary Nagaland, J. Alam. Other highlights of the programme included the culmination of the participants of Walkathon and Brass and Pipe Band display by the Nagaland Police Training School Brass Band, Nagaland Police Auxiliary Brass Band, 15th NAP (Mahila) Battalion Pipe Band and the 1st Assam Rifles Pipe Band. As part of the celebration of Iconic Events Week and to commemorate the 126th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, a drawing & painting competition on the life of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was held at the Capital Cultural Hall, Kohima on January 18. A total of 126 students from 26 schools in Kohima took part in the competition which was organized by the Nagaland Board of School Education. The 20 best drawings and paintings were chosen by three judges, who are Artists from the Department of Art & Culture. The drawings were later put up for viewing at the Capital Cultural Hall during the evening Cultural programme. (DIPR Photo)

More than 500 volunteers from National Cadet Corps (NCC), Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), National Service Scheme (NSS), and Assam Rifles participated in the walkathon held during the Iconic Events Week in honour of the 126th Birth Anniversary of Netaji ubhash Chandra Bose as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on January 18. The walkathon was flagged off by Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, IAS from Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima. The walkathon culminated at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza. (DIPR Photo)
