IDA Nagaland State Branch hosts 16th conference

Indian Dental Association Nagaland State Branch on Friday held its 16th conference cum annual general meeting at Niathu Resort, Dimapur with Principal Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, I. Himato Zhimomi as the special guest.  

Earlier, during the Preconference Lecture, Dr. Kaketo Yepthomi spoke on the topic, “Practice Management” and enlightened the gathering on various dental practices in the chambers from the private practitioners’ point of view.  

One of the points he emphasized upon was satisfying the patients of their problems and follow up procedures. He suggested the gathered private dentists about the need to remind patients about their appointments and also medicine intakes. Besides solving and satisfying the patients about their problems, Dr Kaketo opined that informing the patients about the entire oral health status would be beneficial for the patient as well as the doctor.  

He also talked about economical stability of the dentists while they strive to provide efficient services to the patients. Dr. Kaketo stressed on providing value added services to the patients, the need to have good parking space outside the clinics and a sufficient waiting room.  

Apart from maintaining hygienic atmosphere inside the clinic, he talked about providing various reading materials for the patients and attendants while waiting for their turn to consult the doctor.  

Dr. Kaketo further emphasized on the 3 Rs – Recognition, Recreation and Reward for the associates working in the clinic. He urged the dentists to lead a stress free life so that they can provide efficient service to the patients in sound mind and health.  

Other speakers during the conference included Dr. Alex Kithan, Dr. Pfukrolo Koza and Dr. Imyangluba Longchar.
