DIMAPUR, APRIL 20 (MExN): The Directorate of Health and Family Welfare has set up a control room for reporting and monitoring of vector-borne diseases in Nagaland.
Dr. Imnapokim, Joint Director and State Programme Officer, National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, decided during a review meeting with the NVBDCP state team held on March 31 to establish a dedicated control room for the state.
A press release from the department informed that the control room would ensure timely reporting, monitoring, and coordination of vector-borne diseases such as malaria, dengue, chikungunya, Japanese encephalitis, kala-azar, and lymphatic filariasis across the state. The control room will operate under the supervision of the State Entomological Wing, NVBDCP, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, and will be responsible for the systematic collection, compilation, quick intervention and analysis of data related to these notifiable diseases.
The initiative aims to enhance early detection, improve response time, and strengthen overall disease surveillance and management in the state. All individuals, citizens, health workers, professionals, and stakeholders have been requested to actively utilize this service for reporting suspected or confirmed cases and to support the collective effort in preventing and controlling vector-borne diseases in Nagaland.
