
Final scholar(s) to avail 12 lakhs scholarship
Dimapur, October 29 (MExN): The recently concluded seminar and test on October 23 last at Town hall, Dimapur by Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access to Legal Education (IDIA), in coloration with Dimapur Naga Students’ Union and Dimapur District Citizen’s Forum was attended by students from different schools of Dimapur and well wishers.
In the test conducted on October 23 right after the seminar, representatives from DNSU and DDCF were present so as to maintain transparency. The test was divided into five parts: English, Mathematics, GK, Logical Reasoning and Legal Aptitude and the total number was for 30 marks. The highest score achieved was 19. Although the number of participants and achieved marks were not as expected, the students faired well in Legal reasoning and based on the test scores, the number of short listed students was 10. From October 24 to 27, the team visited the homes of the short-listed students, conducted their interviews and spoke to their parents.
The final list of IDIA scholar(s) will be selected by an external auditor from Kolkata, the result of which will be announced in the next 1-2 months.
The 10 short listed candidates are the following: Kivibo Awomi, Jumika K Yeptho, M. Kihito Chishi, Shekugha Awomi and Niugha Zhimomi from Livingstone Foundation Hr Sec School; Jepi Y Chisho- St. John College; Bijoy Sarkar- Ram Janaki Hr Sec School; Vinatoli Yeptho-St Paul Hr Sec School; Kevingunu Khanyo-Govt Hr Sec School.
The short listed students will have to go for further scrutiny after which the final IDIA scholar(s) will be selected. The final IDIA scholar(s) will be given coaching for CLAT-an all India entrance test in order to be admitted to the top law colleges in India and on clearing the entrance, a scholarship amounting to almost 12 lakh will be provided to them by IDIA.
