Dimapur, September 30 (MExN): “If you want to see change in the world, you must not start telling others what to do. You begin with yourself."
W Rainbow Ngullie, Central Government Standing Counsel (CGSC) and Panel Lawyer Enforcement Directorate, Ministry of Home Affairs, GoI was speaking at the 34th Fresher’s Meet cum 5th Academic Excellency Award of Dimapur Lotha Students’ Union (DLSU) at IMC Hall, Dimapur on September 28.
Held under the theme ‘Be the change,’ the speaker exhorted the young students to “live the life you wish to live, for you are living in the world of your choice.”
Ngullie also talked about the inevitable role of technological advancements in today’s world, stating that most of the changes occurring today are led by its advancements.
He underscored the importance of adapting to change, to new strategies in the correct prospective.
“Some people prefer to spent lives doing the same things and avoiding change. Others however, think that change is always a good thing.”
Stressing that change is inevitable and constant, Ngullie said that the world we live in was full of uncertainties, that “the only certain is Change.”
Change in simple words was to make something different from what it actually is. Change provides opportunities for a person to grow, gain new experiences and learn flexibility. “Learning to embrace change can teach you to be more prepared and ready for what life throws at you.”
He urged the young audience to first determine what changes one wants to make, while adding all progress begins with desire. And also to develop a positive attitude in everything that we do.
A positive attitude is a mindset that helps you and recognizes opportunities. Thus, positive attitude means positive thinking.
One of the best ways to increase your chance of success in all areas of life is to develop a positive mental attitude.
He further advised the students to focus on the present, to be positive and not complain. “How you view your life is your choice No one is forcing you to have a negative attitude," Ngullie added.
Meanwhile, Zuben Ngullie and Lovungi Tsopoe were crowned Mister and Miss Fresher 2019 respectively.
