Dimapur, September 10 (MExN): R.K Srivastava, IFS, Inspector General of Forest & Director, Project Elephant, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India visited Intangki National Park on September 9.
Welcoming him to the National Park, Heuneilung, Field Director briefed about the background and present status of the only National Park in the state which is the biggest conserved area covering 20,202 hectare in area which is 100% under the control of the Department in the state. The Field Director also highlighted the task and responsibility of his frontline staff with the slogan ‘Protect and develop Intangki National Park’ to raise its standard at par with the other National Park of the country.
SP Tripathi, Chief Wildlife Warden, Nagaland in his short speech emphasised on the financial position and the need of Infrastructural development for effective management and protection of the National Park.
The IGF in his speech focused on the proper maintenance of the management plan assuring to look into the proposals towards the development of the Park in his capacity. He also interacted with the village authorities of the fringe village and expressed appreciation for their co-operation with the Forest Department.
