The International Institute of Montessori Teacher Training (IIMTT) Kohima centre was launched on JUne 28 at a function held at Joyance Pre-School, Razhu Point, Kohima
Addressing the launching programme as the guest of honour, Neichute Doulo, CEO of The Entrepreneurs Associates (tEA), shared that development should not be relegated to the government, and every citizen must be responsible for it.
Doulo, the Ashoka and Schwab Fellow shared that people must be problem solvers like Chanda Sahi (Director IIMTT, Kohima), who, having witnessed the need for such an institute, developed a solution that will benefit countless individuals.
Doulo also shared that unlike other parts of the country where entrepreneurship is ingrained and nurtured within families, in Nagaland it is unfortunately the last resort and often looked down upon by people and social institutions.
“Therefore, as we advance, people must begin to view entrepreneurship as an opportunity and encourage it for our society to move forward,” added the CEO of tEA.
Also attending the programme as guest of honour, Lolano Patton, DPRO Wokha and Governor Gold Medal Awardee, also congratulated Chanda and her team for the work and hoped that the institute would usher in change in the field of education.
Stating that IIMTT is one of India's leading institutes for Montessori teacher training, Chanda Sahi in her introductory note said “With successful centres across India and overseas, IIMTT is committed to developing passionate and effective Montessori educators around the country.” IIMTT Kohima's vision is to inspire and equip aspiring Montessori teachers with the skills and mindset needed to nurture young minds and promote lifelong learning, she said.
Sahi said that IIMTT is accredited by an Ofqual-regulated UK Awarding Body, ISO-certified, CPD UK (accreditation no #778846) and registered on the UK Register of Learning Providers (UKPRN: 10086062).
IIMTT offers a globally recognised certification, now available in Montessori teacher training in Joyance Pre-School, Kohima.
Along with theory classes, IIMTT strives to provide its students with a thorough understanding of the Montessori materials. Hands-on sessions and classroom teaching practice are given at IIMTT Kohima.
IIMTT Kohima is now open for admission for the Academic Session 2025.
Earlier, the programme started with a dedicatory prayer by Mhonchumo S Lotha, Pastor, KLBC.
Special number was presented by Pezet Newme.
The programme was chaired by Athe Rhi and concluded with a vote of thanks by Jonathan Kikon and benediction by Khalong Aier, Worship Director, FHC.
