DIMAPUR, JUNE 22 (MExN): Imchen’s Custom Art School, in collaboration with the National People’s Youth Front (NPYF), Nagaland State unit of the National People's Party (NPP), celebrated World Music Day with a creative painting competition at AG Colony Council Hall in Kohima.
The event saw participation from aspiring artists and art enthusiasts who used the medium of visual art to express the universal language of music. Proprietor of the school and 3D architectural designer, Moa Imchen, spoke on the power of music to transcend boundaries and unite people globally. "Art and craft activities are not just enjoyable pastimes but also offer wide-ranging benefits including mental well-being, life skills, and social development,” he said.
Highlighting the school’s inclusive approach, Imchen stated that the institution welcomes students of all backgrounds, including Children with Special Needs (CwSN). He also announced the introduction of a 3D architectural design course for both junior and senior categories. Encouraging participants, Imchen urged young artists to pursue art professionally, stressing its potential for a successful and rewarding career.
Imchayanger Pongen, Advocate, also addressed the gathering and encouraged art aspirants to develop their talents and aim for professionalism.
Speaking at the event, Nicky Nongkhlaw, National President of NPYF, described music as a universal language that fosters creativity, teamwork, discipline, and emotional well-being. He lauded the participation of the NPYF Nagaland State in the celebrations and extended gratitude to partner institutions including Imchen’s Custom Art School, Note Grid School of Mokokchung, and the Institute of Music Education Dimapur.
The programme concluded with an emphasis on nurturing creativity and cross-disciplinary collaboration among youth through art and music.
