NPF turned NDPP MLA, Imkong L Imchen has resigned from the membership of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA). Imchen made the revelation via social media, on January 21, posting a copy of the resignation letter addressed to the NLA Secretary. The letter stated that he was resigning with effect from "forenoon, January 20, 2023.
The reason was attributed as “on personal ground.” When contacted by The Morung Express for further elaboration on the stated reason, he cited the unresolved Naga political issue and losing of trust in the present state government led by Neiphiu Rio. Prodded further, he revealed that he was vying for the BJP ticket from 28 Koridang Assembly Constituency in Mokokchung.
