DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 10 (MExN): The Faith in Action Martial Arts Academy organized the 8th Faith in Action Inter-school Taekwondo Championship 2024 on November 9 at St. Stephen’s Higher Secondary School, Dimapur. The tournament saw the participation of 14 schools, with each bringing their dedication, skills, and passion to the arena.

The event was graced by Khevishe Sema, President of the North East Pencak Silat Federation & Nagaland Pencak Silat Association, and State Co-Chief Spokesperson for the BJP, Nagaland, who attended as the special guest. In his address, Sema highlighted the importance of sports in shaping character, discipline, and sportsmanship, emphasizing how martial arts foster these values in young athletes.

Players in action at the 8th Faith in Action Taekwondo Championship 2024. 

The championship featured intense sparring matches and impressive synchronized Poomsae (forms) displays, with each competitor showcasing their skills. Faith in Action Headquarters, Immanuel Hall emerged as the overall champion, securing 16 Gold, 11 Silver, and 1 Bronze medal. Polestar School claimed the 1st Runner-Up title with 14 Gold, 8 Silver, and 1 Bronze medal.

The 2nd Runner-Up trophy was shared by Little Star Higher Secondary School, with 10 Gold, 8 Silver, and 10 Bronze medals, and Christian Higher Secondary School, which earned 7 Gold, 6 Silver, and 4 Bronze medals.

In addition to the team awards, several athletes were honored for their outstanding performances in their respective categories. Dr. Francis Anal, Principal of St. Stephen’s Higher Secondary School, delivered the closing remarks, thanking all participants, coaches, and organizing members for making the event a resounding success. He also expressed the school’s pride in hosting the tournament under the guidance of the Guinness World Record Holders team, and congratulated the winners while encouraging all athletes to continue their journey in Taekwondo with passion and dedication.
