Imnatiba visits Longleng, urges DTF to sensitise people

LONGLENG, MAY 31 (MExN): Advisor for Industries & Commerce Nagaland, Imnatiba, who is also the legislator in-charge of Longleng visited the district on May 30 and held an emergency meeting with the District Task Force for COVID-19 at the DC’s office, Longleng.

 

Addressing the District Task Force, Imnatiba lauded the medical fraternity, district administration, police, NGOs, Churches and other frontline workers who are constantly rendering their services to contain and control the spread of COVID-19 in the midst of various obstacles and criticism.  

 

Asserting that COVID-19 is going to stay till the vaccine and medicines are available, he appealed to the DTF to come up with sensitization programs to educate the uninformed sections of the people in the grassroots level through local dialect and remove the fear psychosis, doubts and rumours of the virus. He also pointed out that as responsible citizens, the educated must know how to strictly adhere to the SOP of the Government and contain the spread of virus.

 

Imnatiba informed that the state government has decided to install a Tru Nat machine in every district and is expected to reach by the second week of June.  He also informed that posting of anesthesiologist for Longleng was already done and will be reporting to the district shortly. 

 

The Advisor meanwhile donated Rs 50,000 to the DTF for COVID-19 Longleng. To do away with communication gap, he suggested that he be included in the COVID-19 whatsapp group of Longleng.

 

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, M Shayung Phom, who chaired the meeting, welcomed the Advisor and the members present. 

 

Later the CMO Longleng, Dr Obangjungla highlighted on COVID-19 activities of the district and apprised the Advisor about makeshift hospital, quarantine centres and testing samples sent to kohima. Dr Lhouvizotuo Belho, Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Longleng highlighted the infrastructure development of the district COVID-19 Hospital, Longleng.
