Dimapur, November 30 (MExN): The Dimapur GBs Union has called on the district administration to include area/colony GBs while conducting surveys/spot verifications for mutation and transfer of ownership of land.
The GBs Union in a representation to the Dimapur Deputy Commissioner stated that the prevailing practice of surveyors/mondals not informing and including the concern area GBs when conducting surveys/spot verification has rendered the GBs helpless in cases where disputes have cropped up.
“We are of the strong opinion that the concern area/colony GBs should be included,” the GB union stated while reasoning that this would enable the GBs who are well aware of the factual position to “effectively assist” the surveyors and, in effect, avoid complications and disputes in the process of transfer of land, title and ownership.
