Indigenous games, fashion show mark Day 2 of Poanglum Mini Hornbill

Tuensang, January 12 (MExN): The 2nd day of Poanglum Mini Hornbill 2022 continued with indigenous games and Poanglum Fashion Show on January 12 at parade ground Tuensang. 

The special guest of the Indigenous games celebration was Shami Angh, President Phom Peoples’ Council.

Speaking on the occasion, Angh said Tuensang has been known to the people since the time of Indian Independence and Chang being an owner are like a “mother to all the tribes of the Eastern Nagaland,” a DIPR report informed. 

He appreciated the forefathers of Changs for guiding and leading them to be who they are today, it said.

Angh further maintained that celebration of culture and tradition in such a huge manner should not let one  astray from the religious principle of the  community. 

“Our community leaders had a vision for us therefore we should also choose our leaders wisely so that we will have brighter future tomorrow,” he said.

In the indigenous games competition, the first prize of thee Naga Happung (Go-Kart) competition was bagged by Thungti and Kusang of Saksi colony while  Beso Yemjong and Langpong of Saksi colony and Namang and Lemba of Taknyu village came second and third respectively. 

In the Log Drum beating competition, the 1st position was bagged by C Khel Tuensang village while P Khel Tuensang Village came second.
