It is with great pride the Nagas claim themselves to be a Christian State which proves the simple and humble attitude of the Nagas towards life. But during the quest for divinity many Naga Christians has overlooked (unnoticed) the facts on how Christianity originated in the world in the first place before it spread in Nagaland. Many self proclaimed Naga prophets memorizes bible verses and preach to others and claim to have vision to foresee the destiny of the people while praying or through their dreams but they still don’t know who wrote the bible and who the Jews are.
The amount of Christian propaganda in our Sate has really made the Nagas narrow minded and this is also one of the reasons why we lack development in our society. In our fear of the lord we have decided to live a simple religious life while condemning anyone who tends to explore life beyond the norms of the laws written in the bible. Even the westerners who spread Christianity do not cling to religion as naïvely as the Nagas. They are open minded and are also interested in science, history, humanity, reality which the Nagas has far drifted away from.
We gave up on science and historical facts because these subject talks about a different reality than as mentioned in the bible. I want to ask our Naga Christians why they are Christians. Is it because they have personally/physically experienced with God or is it because if you are not a Christian then the society will mock at you or is it because you simply don’t want to end up in hell?
There are many modern views about life from scholars that is more refined than bible. The bible speaks of laws for the slaves to obey their masters, which means the bible approves slavery. But after slavery was abolished in America by President Lincoln the modern concepts like liberty, freedom, human rights, democracy directly contradicts with the teachings in the Old Testament which is not something to ignore. These are serious questions and as long as the less educated Naga Christians try to ignore or turn away from the truth by calling me or any rational people “ANTICHRIST” and saving their face then you are only straying our society from knowledge and truth and promoting “IGNORANCE” for the future Naga generations.
If you want to be a Christian then be a learned Christian and be more concerned about where our society is heading. And when someone talks about the facts of science don’t call them antichrist without any substantial proof if not be ready to face legal actions in court. Just because someone believes in science it doesn’t mean he is against religion (because he has nothing to do with religion). In fact you should be proud and be ashamed that a fellow Naga is taking a risk of going to hell by not accepting the reality of bible and seeing the world from a scientific perspective which means this set of Nagas can bring development in our society with their scientific knowledge which is rare among the Naga Christians.
It is time for us to accept the fact that Nagaland is plagued with Christian propaganda at its peak which has made the society irrational. We have a lot to catch up with the world and if every Naga decides to abstain from science and proven facts then don’t dream or complain about development. Be like the Amish Christian, they don’t live in the spoils of science. They live in a primitive society even in this era with no electronics or cars, internet etc.
