Mokokchung: DC& DEO, Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal, IAS, has on 20th February, 2018 issued a direction on distribution of Photo Voter Slips in connection with the upcoming General Election to the NLA 2018. As per Election Commission of India instruction on distribution of Photo Voter Slips to the electors by BLOs, guidelines as contained in various instructions from time to time must be followed by all concern with strict compliance. It is important to note that BLOs maintain absolute neutrality during the distribution of Photo Voter Slips, and ensure that BLOs obtain the signature or thump impression of the person to whom the Photo Voter Slips is delivered while, bulk distribution is not allowed.
Returning Officer should monitor the distribution of Photo Voter Slips with the help of Sector Officers and should ensure that all Photo Voter Slips are properly distributed and duly accounted for. The Observer would use the service of the Micro Observers and Sector Officers to carry out random checks and ensure distribution of the Photo Voter Slips in an effective manner and to address complains received, if any, from any quarter about the conduct of the BLOs while distributing these slips. Detail information on the instructions can be obtained from the District Election Office. (DIPR )
